A part of Impacto Ministry's goal is to make disciples and to equip others. Each month we will meet with the youth from a different church to build them up and encourage them. On Saturday January 18 Impacto staffer Fredy Perez met with a dozen youth at the local church in San Juan. Using scripture from Luke 14:26-33 he challenged these young men and ladies on what it means to be a disciple, and the cost that comes along with that. Being a Jesus follower requires much more than showing up for a church service; it requires action and sacrifice in our lives. The youth were very receptive and are eager to have more of these meetings.

On Saturday, January 25, it was such a joy to see more than 65 leaders from our churches, and also other denominations, gathered at the Promised Land for training! Pastor Luis contacted the Child Evangelism Association [CEA] and asked them to come help equip the pastors and leaders to effectively teach children and teens in Sunday School and VBS. We do not want VBS to be merely a babysitting event. We want to evangelize the ones who attend. There were four CEA trainers and they brought materials with them to distribute. They taught participants new techniques for teaching a Bible story, memorizing scripture, and how to be more effective when teaching children and teens. All of the materials presented were new and centered on songs, song choreography, Bible stories, and themes that will help evangelize and in effect, expand the Kingdom of Heaven. The training lasted over 7 hours. Some of the participants walked 2 hours and then rode another 3 hours in the back of a pick-up truck just to get the training. This is how badly our pastors and leaders hunger for training! Impacto provided a nice hot lunch for everyone. We praise God for blessing us with the Promised Land facility where we can hold such events! All of this was possible through God's grace and through your obedience to pray and give to Impacto Ministry. To all of you who prayed for this event, Thank You! Your prayers were heard and answered. Last month's Zona Cero youth camp was a huge success. We had four days and three nights of God-lead moments. This time we had a team from Canada come alongside Impacto to fulfill this awesome ministry. We ministered to around 86 youth. Workshops were held for guys and girls and there were games, rallies, praise and worship and an incredible amount of prayer time. We had some youth come to Christ for the first time; some reconciled themselves with God; and, some dedicated their lives to the Lord. To this date we see the difference in these kids' lives through their text messages and, believe it or not, on Facebook. As many of you know, ministering to youth is my passion and I am so humbled to be used by God for such a wonderful ministry. Thank you to all of you who supported this event both through prayer and financially. Please begin to pray for Zona Cero 2014 to be held December 5, 6 and 7.
