"When my heart is overwhelmed lead me to the rock that is higher than I" (Psalm 61:2). The month of May was just that, overwhelming hearts leaning on the Rock that is our God. As we ended April with many changes, we welcomed March with even more changes. With all these changes happening, we are reminded there is one thing that will always be the same and that is our God. He is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow! As we hang on to God, we have seen Him clear as day throughout this past month.
It has been a prayer of ours for the past couple weeks for God to provide a male teacher for Happy Tummies. Elena does a wonderful job, but with 40 kids she really needs an extra set of hands. Two weeks ago God did just that! We are happy to announce we have Lucas working with us now. This is just one of many praises! Though we are so thankful for this, an extra teacher does mean an extra salary. We know that God wouldn't have provided a teacher if He wasn't going to provide the funds. So we ask you that if God is laying in your heart Togolese towards this ministry please do so.
We are all very happy with the way God is manifesting Himself. Staff-led ministries are flourishing, for our staff is being led by God. The ESL students aren't only learning English, they are learning the Word of God. The staff-led Bible study held with staff and translators is something we all look forward to. It is such a great time of fellowship but most importantly we walk out of there with our cups overflowing. The sewing ministry is really shaping up. We are now meeting twice a month. The ladies are creating a bond with each other and with our staff. They share praises and prayer requests and pray for each other. The Happy Tummies moms are enjoying the friendships being formed each month during our visits and monthly meeting. They are also learning to listen to and pray for each other. May 30 we celebrated Mother's Day with them and the Abuelitas and they had a blast. The kids all participated, they played games, won prizes and each mom went home with a present!
This month also marks the beginning of our preparations for November VBS and Zona Cero in December. We held a VBS/Sunday School workshop in which we were able to give the teachers crafts and supplies for their classes. We ask that you be praying for these two events. Zona Cero this year will be titled Zona Cero: The Reaction. The theme verse is Acts 1:8 "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you...and you will be my witnesses...to the ends of the earth." We have witnessed the effects of Zona Cero on so many of our local youth and have testimonies of parents who have seen the changes in their own kids. Please keep this special event in your prayers.
Thank you again so much for your prayers, we can feel them working. Also, if God has put in your heart to give towards this ministry you can do it through our website or sending checks to the Impacto office in La Plata MD. Thanks again!
God Bless, The Impacto Staff |

The month of May we were pleased to host an intern. Sarah Newton, Bryce's sister spent the month with us helping out in many ways. Here is a little something she wrote about her experience.
Hello, my name is Sarah Newton and I have been interning with Impacto for the month of May. During this time I have had the opportunity to serve in ministries such as Abuelitos, Happy Tummies, and English classes. There are not enough words to describe how my experiences this past month have impacted the way I view serving and impacted me as a person. Simply serving in any capacity needed opened my eyes to the gifts of those I worked with as well as gifts within myself. Through listening, helping prepare food, teaching English to the kids, etc., I have learned practical steps for serving a community and working alongside them. I will cherish these memories and all the friends I have been able to make.
