Just Do It
Luke 19:40 "I tell you, he replied, if they keep quiet, the stones themselves will cry out"
This happened on Palm Sunday when Jesus came into Jerusalem and the youth were singing praises to Him. As you may remember some of the Pharisees were angry and asked Jesus to have them quiet down and that's when Jesus answered "I tell you, even if they keep quiet, the stones themselves will cry out." If we ever think God's work would fall apart without us then we are so very wrong! Because with or without us He is going to do it. Therefore my advice is, let's be grateful if He is including us in His plans and let's JUST DO IT! He will use others and even call upon things in His creation to do it if we don't. What a privilege it is for us when He asks! So, we need to JUST DO IT!

August 2014
The month of August was a bittersweet month to us as we said goodbye to our last summer team. We had two teams join us for the month of August both of which were from New York. Within the first two weeks in August there was an herb/vegetable garden built and the watchman's house begun at the new San Juan Happy Tummies site, a widow's house built and basketball camps were held at middle and elementary schools. And of course time and love were spent with our Abuelitas and Happy Tummies kids. We are very thankful to all of you who joined us at some point this summer, to those of you who gave economically and to those of you you who prayed for us and our ministry efforts.

Update! Thank you all who gave monetarily for Diego, the young man who had an eye injury a few months ago. This month we were able to take him into the city for an eye exam. We were sure he was going to get a check up and then they would give us a date for his surgery; but as always God showed us how He has everything under control and how He takes care of His children. The doctor checked Diego over and decided he could have laser sugery that same day! Everything came out great and the doctor will see Diego again in September when he will also be fitted for glasses! After surgery we asked Diego if he wanted to eat fried chicken or a hamburger. He answered by saying that he had once tried fried chicken but never in his life had he had a hamburger and he would love to try one. It broke our heart as we were reminded how much we take for granted. Needless to say he loved his meal and said in September when we go back for his check-up he would love to have another hamburger! Once again thank you to all of you who gave and prayed for Diego, may God multiply it back.

RIPPLE EFFECT This is a picture taken while Pastor Luis and Dinora were visiting the new Happy Tummies site. Many of you haven't had the pleasure of working with these men. They are the same men who worked on the construction at the Promised Land and now are working on building the new Happy Tummies site. In this picture, these men had asked for
Pastor Luis to lead them in prayer to thank God for His provision of such a stable job for them. Some of these men aren't Christians but having them work alongside Impacto has really shaped their lives and brought them closer to God. Thank you all very much for your donations; as you see, they bless a lot more people than you may realize. Because of a job, these men are seeing the hand of God in their lives.

MEET ALLAN
This is Allan and he is 1 year old. As a newborn he had to have corrective surgery on his hips because they were dislocated and his feet were pigoen-toed. He also was born with obstruction in his intestines and the doctors had to put a tube into one side to function as a drain. He needs to be cleaned many times a day with gauzes and triple antibiotics plus other medicines. Just on the gauzes they spend around $100+ a month, not to mention the rest of his medicines. IMPACTO has given them almost all the gauzes we had in the Happy Tummies pharmacy and every time we get more it goes to this family. The doctor said Allan can have surgery next February if they can get his weight up. The only way they can do this is to give him Pediasure since he cannot have solids. Two cans of Pediasure, each 900 g, cost a little less than $100. The family cannot afford this and if they cannot get Allan's weight up, he won't be able to have surgery. If you would like to donate towards this family's needs please do so by check or Paypal. Just make sure you specify what the money is for. Please keep them in your prayers asking specifically that God may give them all strength through this. |

Bittersweet Goodbye It is with sadness and joy that we said goodbye to Pastor Diego this month. We know that he is in a much better place. We know God's mercy is great and he didn't let Pastor Diego suffer for long here on earth. We ask that you do keep his family in your prayers. We are in constant contact with them offering support through prayer and guidance. The enemy really seems to be attacking them now that Pastor Diego is gone but we know that our God is all-powerful and we know He has everything under control. Please pray that a new pastor will feel God's call to shepherd this congregation. Pray for the church in Santa Clara that even through Pastor Diego's passing they will continue to thrive and and be a light unto their town.
