What Motivates You in Daily Living?
For many of you this expression is very familiar, "I have a verse for you." (Ha! Ha! It comes from papi as he always says; "I have a verse for you.") Before I share my verses today, let me ask you this question, what is your motivation to do this or that? I want to share two scripture passages and two examples with you to help check your motivation in daily life.
Mark 2:5-12 tells us about four guys bringing a friend on a stretcher to Jesus; the man could not walk due to paralysis. When they arrived there was a great multitude surrounding Jesus and they couldn't get their friend to where Jesus was standing. So, they opened a hole in the roof and lowered the man to the feet of Jesus. Then the verse says, when Jesus saw the faith of these four men (not the faith of the paralyzed man) he said, "Son, your sins have been forgiven. Stand up and go to your house." The motivation of these four men was faith and compassion.
2 Corinthians 5:14, For the love of Christ constraineth me. In the verses before verse 14, Paul tells us he had learned to be happy with little or with much, with comfort zone or without comfort zone. But his biggest motivation was the love of Christ constraineth me.
As a pastor and your friend, I want to encourage you to find these three motivations to lead your daily life: faith, compassion for others and the love of Christ.

With the new site for Happy Tummies and Abuelitas, Impacto has room to increase the number of participants in both ministries. We have 43 children and 22 abuelitas and hope to double those numbers in 2015. To do that, we will need more monthly supporters so we ask that your pray about it and if God leads, make a monthly commitment so that more children and elderly will be fed nutritious meals, Spiritual food, and daily encouragement and kindness. January: What A GREAT Month!

WELCOME...
On January 3, 2015 -- Larry and Carlotta Walsh
Impacto welcomed missionaries from Canada who are serving with us for three months. God blessed them with many abilities and talents. From the construction site to ministering to the children and Abuelitas, Larry and Carlotta have already made a life-changing impact on many. Without their carpentry skills and hard work, the cabinets would not have been completed on time for Happy Tummies' move. In addition to making many new friends that live here in Guatemala, they are adding friends from the North America as they have met each team with open friendliness and Christian love. Their servants' hearts are huge and we are honored to have them ministering alongside us. Thank you to everyone, (especially their home church, River Valley) who had a part in making it possible for Larry and Carlotta to come for an extended time as missionaries.
On January 16, 2015 -- Yabelle Adrianna Mendez
A baby ... a special gift from God! Tony and Andrea became the proud parents of a baby girl! Yabelle weighed in at 6 lbs. 6 ozs. and 21 inches long. Yabelle's two brothers, Daniel and David are wonderful big brothers, watching over her and helping mom and dad to care for her. We praise God for this new life and pray that Yabelle will grow to be a woman seeking and following His will. Please keep this new little one, her mom, dad and brothers lifted in prayer.

Ministry Program Updates...

 Impacto has also been blessed this month with teams from Canada, South Dakota, New York and Maryland. These teams have been filled with energy and a desire to minister so much has been accomplished! The team from Kingswood University held a special time of ministry with youth in different churches. The GracePoint team helped move everything from the old Happy Tummies site to the new site in San Juan. |
The New York and New Life teams worked on a seawall at the Promised Land. Each team spent time with the Happy Tummies children, the Abuelitas, and worked on construction projects at the Promised Land and the new Happy Tummies site. Though we know there had to be sore backs and muscles no complaints were heard! Impacto sends out a big thanks to everyone who helped send each of these teams to minister. We know that many prayers and donations of money were made to help support the team members and we pray that God will provide many blessings to all involved. |
 The first meal in the new San Juan Happy Tummies site was on Thursday, January 21st. This was a day of celebration for the children, workers, and GracePoint team. Lunch was a pizza party followed by pi�atas, games, a Bible story and prayers. What a joy it is to be in this new location! The children love it and so do the Abuelitas! It is much closer for many of them than the former site.
We are extremely happy that Prof. Abraham, our male teacher who became a Christian during the December Christmas Celebration, has begun teaching the Bible stories to the Abuleitas and the Happy Tummies Children! Se�orita Elena has been discipling him and gave him the assignment of teaching the creation story. He studied the first two chapters of Genesis, made animal hats and used the flannel board to teach about how God created the world. He did a beautiful job! Please pray for him as he grows in Christ and shares his newfound joy and excitement!

 The three carpenters, all non-believers, came to ask Pastor Luis to start a Bible study for them. They are hungry to learn about God. We want to feed them spiritually. Our prayer is that they will surrender their hearts and lives to God. One of the teams gave each worker a Spanish Bible and two teams helped with the first study. Praise the Lord for this new ministry effort that will be held every Wednesday night. |
