These verses ring true to January 2016. Our plans to start out this year were big -- His plans were massive! There is no doubt that He deserves the glory and that
He has done 'immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine.' A few days after celebrating the New Year we were blessed to host a team from GracePoint Church in South Dakota. The team made house visits to 17 families in Panyebar; these are the first families for our new Happy Tummies. They also began construction on the new library/learning center at the Happy Tummies in San Juan and, of course, spent time showing God's love to our Abuelitos and kids.
January was also spent putting the finishing touches on our new Happy Tummies site in Panyebar. February 1 will be the first day. We will hold a dedication service that same day and bring this new ministry to the feet of Jesus. As many of you know our priority is to bring these children to Christ and to help them know Him on a more personal level. This month we also were blessed with the opportunity to begin ministering to our middle schoolers. After 6th grade children start going to school in the afternoon. Last year we 'lost' three of our HT kids to afternoon school. After praying about it we decided to take a leap of faith and attend to them in the morning. So, every day they come in at around 9 a.m. or so and we give them something light to eat, a nutritious drink, or fruit, or PB&J. Afterwards, they work on their homework and projects, the teachers are able to help them while also being with the Abuelitos. At noon they get their lunch, which is the same as the lunch served for the afternoon kids. But the most important thing is that 20 minutes before lunch they have a devotional. Something appropriate to their age and a time prayer. Our hope and prayer is that we can get the Abuelitos place built in order to use Happy Tummies facilities just for the children. This way we can disciple them all the way through college!
