Greetings from Guatemala!

God is busy at work and we are very thankful for
His guidance and the many blessings He sends  to Impacto. This year has gotten off to a great start and we have seen much progress through  the teams that have come and worked so hard.

We want to share with everyone that after many months of prayer, Pastor Luis and Dinora submitted their resignation to Global Partners (GP) last month. Nothing is wrong, nothing bad happened. They have enjoyed working as missionaries through GP for the past 17 years. For some time now, they have felt God leading them towards putting all their time and energy into Impacto's ministry efforts. Pastor Luis and Dinora will continue working very closely with our local churches and with new ones that request help from Impacto. They also plan to continue exploring new areas for planting new churches. Beginning today, April 1, they are working solely with Impacto. Nothing else has changed. Your continued financial support and prayers are greatly needed.

Following this announcement is a letter from former General Superintendent Tom Armiger stating his continued support of Pastor Luis, Dinora, and Impacto's ministry efforts. He has told them he is very excited for their new venture!

If you have been providing support for them through GP, please consider now sending that support for them through Impacto so that they will be able to continue doing the ministry to which God has led them. You may do this by setting up your donation online at Impacto's Website, click on DONATE, and pick from the dropdown menu. Checks may be made out to Impacto and sent to Impacto Ministry, 9690 Shepherds Creek Place, La Plata, MD 20646, write Martinez on the memo line.

Stepping out to answer God's call in this new way is a step of faith. They know if God is leading, they must follow. Impacto looks forward to continuing to work towards training pastors and leaders, feeding the malnourished children of Happy Tummies and elderly of Abuelitos, hosting teams, and all other ongoing ministries.

We will keep you informed of all Impacto's work through our monthly ministry updates.  Thank you for partnering with us as we work to make a mighty impact in Guatemala for the Kingdom. We are excited to see what God has in store!

In the love of Christ,
Impacto Ministry

Memo To:    Fellow Supporters of Luis Martinez

From:          Dr. Thomas Armiger,
Former General Superintendent of The Wesleyan Church

Re:              Recommendation of IMPACTO Ministry

Date:           March 18, 2016

I am writing today to express my complete support and recommendation of Luis and Dinora Martinez as missionaries and church planters through IMPACTO. They have resigned from Global Partners to devote their service entirely to the ministry of IMPACTO in Guatemala. Luis and Dinora have given exemplary service to The Wesleyan Church's work in Guatemala over the past 20 years. As District Superintendent of Virginia District (now Shenandoah), I was privileged to lead the District in partnering and sponsoring the work of Luis Martinez in Guatemala. When I visited Guatemala in 1997, there was only one church; today, there are 18 Wesleyan Churches. The Shenandoah District, along with other districts and local churches, have partnered with the Martinezes to witness an incredible work of evangelism, pastoral training, and church planting. The Wesleyan Church is indebted to them for their vision, passion, and service for the Kingdom. I am extremely grateful for their service and have the upmost confidence in their ongoing ministry of building the Kingdom through IMPACTO.

While they are discontinuing their ministry through Global Partners, they are still Wesleyans passionately involved in compassionate ministry to the poor, evangelizing the lost, and building the Kingdom through IMPACTO.  Villas Wesleyan Church, like so many others, will continue to sponsor and support Luis Martinez's ministry through IMPACTO. They have a wonderful ministry of expanding the Kingdom of God and instilling a passion for missions in the North American Church. I trust you will continue to trust them with your mission partnership as they continue to benefit The Wesleyan Church in Guatemala through IMPACTO.

May the Lord bless IMPACTO as they serve the people of Guatemala in Christ's name.
