Pastor Luis' Corner
Many counselors and psychologists say that fear is a factor that can cause stress, depression, and even physical sickness to our lives. This month's corner will be a little different than most corners God has granted me the privilege to write. First, it will be a two part corner, to be continued next month, and second, a big percentage of this corner won't be my words but the Word of God. I'm not sure what situation you might be going through; maybe you just lost a loved one, maybe you're going through financial struggles, maybe there are family problems, health problems, or another struggle that might be bringing fear into your life. I want to share with you some marvelous verses I found in the Bible. There are 365 verses in the Bible that speak of fear. That is one verse per day for a whole year. So, I want for the Bible to speak to you more than my words and I want God to speak to you through His Word.
"So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."
Isaiah 41:10
"For I am the LORD your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you." Isaiah 41:13
"When I am afraid, I put my trust in you." Psalm 56:3
"The LORD is with me; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?"
Psalm 118:6
"There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love." 1 John 4:18
"Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me." Psalm 23:4
"The LORD is my light and my salvation -- whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life -- of whom shall I be afraid?" Psalm 27:1
"For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline." 2 Timothy 1:7
"So we say with confidence, 'The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?'" Hebrews 13:6
And personally, from my heart, I want to dedicate Joshua 1:9 to you,
"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go."
Please remember the promise in this verse, "the LORD your God will be with you." Satan uses fear and God uses trust. I suggest you choose trust, He is with us ALWAYS.
God Bless You.
