How do I Know that What
I'm Doing is Correct?
"Therefore, in the present case I advise you: Leave these men alone! Let them go! For if their purpose or activity is of human origin, it will fail.
But if it is from God, you will not be able to stop these men; you will only find yourselves fighting against God." Acts 5:38-39
There are times when we've asked God's direction in making a decision and God's answer might not have been very encouraging. Especially when His answer is "NO." Sometimes we don't quite process the answer we were not expecting or did not want to hear. This is the moment when, many times, we have the desire to do what WE think is correct or best for us. In reality, the One who knows what will be the very best for us is the Lord. We then notice that we've been fighting against God, against His will, against what He wants for our lives. The saddest part is that even though we know we're going against His will, a lot of times we continue to try it our way. These verses are the words of Gamaliel, teacher of the law, when people were trying to kill the apostles for preaching God's Word.
"Therefore, in the present case I advise you: Leave these men alone! Let them go! For if their purpose or activity is of human origin, it will fail. But if it is from God, you will not be able to stop these men; you will only find yourselves fighting against God."
Acts 5:38-39
I don't think it's a good idea to fight against God. If what you are doing comes from you it won't last; but, if it's from God nobody will be able to destroy it.
