When you're reading something it's very different than when you're living it. We try so hard to share as much as possible in our updates; but our writing does no justice to what God is doing here in Guatemala. In the past couple of months we've had a few families leave Happy Tummies - for things that were out of our control. But in this time God has brought new families to us, families who need to know more about God and His love! What an amazing opportunity this is for us! Please don't misunderstand, we love being a part of feeding the children and the Abuelitos - right now we are currently feeding around 300 people! But our biggest joy and our number one priority is to bring them to Christ and teach them the Word of God. Thank you to each of you who support us in prayer and financially; we couldn't do it without you. Because of your support, we are seeing the Kingdom grow daily.

P. Luis' Corner

A few years ago, Mel Gibson decided to make a movie portraying what happened to Jesus in the 12 hours before His crucifixion and during His crucifixion. Without a doubt he worked hard on putting into film the way Jesus was tortured, killed, and then risen. I remember that this movie was so good that many were crying in the movie theater. It made me want to research this same timeframe deeper. What I found truly surprised me. It surprised me so much because I had a hard time wrapping my head around what He did for me. I want to share a Bible verse with you. In this verse I will change each 'our' to 'my' ...

"But he was pierced for MY transgressions,
he was crushed for MY iniquities;
the punishment that brought ME peace was on him,
and by his wounds I AM healed." Isaiah 53:5

The Good News is that He did it not only for me, He also did it for you. During this season of Easter try to process in your mind what Jesus did for you and me.

Blessings

As many of you know we've poured the roof on the library! We are very excited to see this ministry moving along. Our initial estimate recently changed because we want to install PVC windows and doors to help prolong the lives of the books. It will take $3,800 to make this happen. We know that this library is going to be a huge benefit to the children. Reading will help further educate them and give them a better future. Our prayer is to see the children become men and women of God and to see them graduate college. The library will be a big part of making this happen.

Fatima

Pictured below are some of Fatima's family with some team members from the

St. Andrew Presbyterian Church [IA]. The picture was recently taken during one of the privileged Home Visits a team can make. This is one of our new families and we already love them so much! Fatima lives in a house with her mom, dad, and two younger brothers. They also share the house with 2 aunts, 2 uncles, 5 cousins, grandfather, grandmother, and great-grandfather. To our surprise, Fatima's younger brothers knew the songs from Happy Tummies! Fatima's mom shared with us how Fatima had always wanted to be a part of Happy Tummies. She had friends at school who talked about it a lot and she longed to be selected to join. This year when she was sent to us from her school she couldn't have been happier. Her mom said that she comes home every day from Happy Tummies and teachers her brothers the Bible lesson and worship songs that she learns that day! As our staff has the privilege of teaching her about God and discipling her, she now has the privilege of doing the same for her younger brothers! To God be the Glory! This is what Happy Tummies is to us -- impacting young lives so that in return they will impact others. As Pastor Luis says, it's 'the ripple effect'.
