May 2017 Impacto Praises & Requests

As the year moves forward we have seen God moving, too.
We see and share with the people daily and take in their troubles, downfalls, and triumphs. But, in the last few days our staff has been taking time to look back to see the changes, the progress, the turn-arounds, and the growth of many around us. We give all the glory to God and are humbled that He has called us to do His work. This is one of our biggest praises and below we share more praises and a few requests that lay heavy on our hearts.

Praises
- Sarah P. is back in Guatemala! We are so thankful to our God for her recovery and to have her back here with us!
- We praise God for a plentiful harvest. We've seen how He has multiplied what we've planted and how many children and elderly have seized the harvest.
-We've been able to share medical supplies to different doctors of surrounding areas; areas we aren't able to reach.
- We praise God for all the mothers out there! For all those who have given birth, those who have taken in or adopted, those who are foster moms, and those who have traveled here and shared a Mother's love with the children of Guatemala.
- The number of children in Happy Tummies Panyebar is growing!

Requests
- We are still in need of funds for the windows and doors for the library. This is a ministry that will be ongoing and it's a resource that will help us prepare the children from elementary school, through middle and high school and eventually off to college. It's a place where we can see them grow in their education with the guidance of people who love the Lord.
- Our San Juan Happy Tummies is low on sponsors. Please don't forget about these kids. A lot of these kids have been with us from the beginning and we see the difference that being in Happy Tummies makes.
- Abuelitos is low on sponsors as well. They love coming to be with us daily, they love how we love them, and how we don't tend to them because we have to but because we want to. Please don't forget about them.
- Our 'busy season' will be starting next month. Please join us in praying for safety of the teams, health & strength for our staff, and that many people will come to know and/or reconcile with the Lord.

Urgent Need
As stated above the number of children in Happy Tummies Panyebar is growing; doubling to be exact. We are going from 30 kids to 62! WOW, our God is wonderful! A Sunday School class in Tuscaloosa (AL), raised funds to add 10 children! Shortly after, an individual, also from Tuscaloosa (AL), decided to raise funds to sponsor the rest of the waiting list, 22 more children! We are in awe of the way God works and how quickly He works. If you've visited the Happy Tummies Panyebar you know that we started out small and slow so now that we're adding more children, we need a few things. We are looking to buy tables, chairs, silverware, plates, cups, pots, and pans. Seeing how God has provided so quickly we want to make sure the children get in quickly too. The first 10 kids have been added, on the days that all of them show up the kids have to eat by taking turns! We need a total of $1,800 to purchase these items to be able to add the rest of the kids. If it's in your heart to help get 22 more children in Happy Tummies as quickly and efficiently as possible please consider donating towards buying the previously mentioned items.

Lucas & Pablo
This is Pablo. He is 11 years old and lives in
San Pablo La Laguna with his dad, Lucas. We met Lucas several
years ago, when he started working construction with Impacto. We knew he had a family but they lived in San Pablo, about 20 minutes away from San Juan. At the beginning of last year we talked to a local school about sending a few needy children to Happy Tummies. It was such a joyful surprise when one of those kids was Lucas' son, Pablo! Shortly after, while working with a team, Lucas gave his heart to Christ and almost immediately we were able to see changes in him. He shared that he started going to church and was loving getting to know God. Of course, when we are doing right by God the enemy is always near. As Lucas and Pablo started growing in their relationship with Christ things took a turn for the worse at home. Lucas' wife told him that if he kept going to the Evangelical Church, she would leave. She let him know that the only way to fix their problem was for him to go back to the Catholic Church. Lucas had a very hard time making his decision. He prayed hard and asked our staff many times to join him in prayer. Sadly, his wife decided to leave and she was going to take both of their sons with her. However, Pablo stood by his father's side. Lucas and Pablo have had their share of ups and downs but they have stayed faithful. This year Lucas is serving in his church full time and loves every minute of it. Last year during our staff Christmas Festival he found some used suits, dress shirts, and ties; he was thrilled to have nice clothes for church. Though we in no way rejoice in what happened to Lucas' and Pablo's family we admire their faith. Lucas knows he's not alone and that he and Pablo are part of our forever family. To God be the glory!
