MAY - This month might be the most emotionally exhausting month so far this year. We've been hit left and right as individuals and as a staff. But, we are closer than ever to God and each other. We are sure that He is in control. Though times have been hard we rejoice in the Lord daily! He is our fortress and our refuge; our faith and hope reside in Him. The Lord is showing Himself here and we are so blessed to be able to share our faith with others daily.

Every day our doorbell rings with people wanting and needing Jesus - people wanting and needing prayer. Sometimes they are believers, other times they're not. We have pastors ring the bell who are tired, broken and in need of prayer and encouragement. But, we also see many who come to share joyous news; to give testimony of what God has done! We love when the people who once came to us tired and broken come back to share how God has shown Himself to them, in them, and through them. We know this makes the enemy mad, we are seeing Him attack. But we are resting in the Lord and we are seeing Him move in this community. To God be the Glory!

Happiness Must be Learned

We go to scool to learn. We go to college to learn how to be doctors, lawyers, engineers, etc. The Bible tells us happiness needs to be learned. So, let me put it this way. The feeling of happiness we know really isn't happiness; it is an emotion, a feeling that passes. So to learn happiness there isn't a school or a college that will teach it to you. Paul says, "...for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances" Philippians 4:11(b). There are two ways of doing it: One is intellectual, and one is experimental. So happiness is not a feeling, it is a decision. The only way to learn it is through God's Word.

"Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior. The Sovereign Lord is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to tread on the heights. For the director of music. On my stringed instruments." Habakkuk 3:117-19

Urgent need for Happy Tummies Panyebar

Many of you know that our numbers for Happy Tummies Panyebar are growing. We are rejoicing in this. We know this is a very poor area and the children need more. They need more food, more homework help, more encouragement, more opportunities, but overall they need more Jesus. 

Right now the 42 kids we have are taking turns eating because we don't have enough spoons. We have 22 kids that are already sponsored and waiting but we don't have what is needed to serve them correctly.  Below is a list of some of he things still needed to before the 22 children can participate.

   - 62 stools                                                       - 1 set of servers
   - 10 tables                                                       - 3 large cloths for tortillas   
   - 30 spoons                                                     - 6 dish towels 
   - 30 forks                                                         - 4 large serving dishes
   - 30 bowls                                                       - 1 pack of washcloths
   - 30 plates                                                      - 4 large Tupperware type bowls for food storage
   - 30 cups                                                         - 1 industrial size blender
   - 4 large pots                                                   - 1 paper towel dispenser
   - 2 large pans                                                  - 1 food processor
   - 5 wooden stirrers                                          - 1 filing cabinet w/lock           
   - 1 blackboard/whiteboard
Luna

This is Luna. She is 7 years old and has 
5 siblings. She was the first child picked for Happy Tummies in Panyebar. Before Happy Tummies started we visited a few families and with God's guidance we picked 15 to begin. Luna was the very first one. Luna's father kicked her mother and siblings out when she was very young. A family member gave them a small piece of land where Luna's mother made a small shack made of tin and wood. Before Happy Tummies started Impacto was able to provide them with a widow's house through a team. When we went to talk to Luna's mother about having her in Happy Tummies she couldn't believe it! She was so grateful that God had not only provided her with a home but He was now providing or Luna. Not too long ago we were able to add a second child from this home; her name is Roxy. Luna says her favorite thing at Happy Tummies is learning about God. She loves to know how God is her Father and that His love for her never fails. She mentioned that her second favorite thing is having a hot meal every day. When Luna first started we could clearly see how underweight and malnourished she was. Now we see a healthy and happy little girl! We are humbled that God has used us to be such a positive influence in this little girl's life. To God be the glory!
