Greetings!
In Guatemala Valentine's Day isn't all about romance. Actually, a big aspect of this holiday is celebrating the love we feel for family and friends! Every teacher has a party with his or her students to show them how loved they are; parents celebrate with their children; and, the community comes together to show love. Today, we want to make sure we take the time to tell you how special you are to us. How much we care for you and that we are constantly lifting you in prayer.

Remember that next week will be our dedication service for the library in San Juan. We will be doing a live video from our Facebook page. Make sure you join us as we give thanks to God for this wonderful opportunity!

Below we'd like to share with you a few of our Praises and Prayer Requests. We ask that you join us in praising and glorifying God's name in all He has done and also ask that you join us in prayer.
PRAISES

  • This month we gave the 100th sewing machine in Stitches of Blessings! This means 100 women have been blessed with a machine through this ministry!
  • Next week we will be dedicating the library in San Juan! Our prayer is that everyone who steps foot in the library will hear and know who God is. Make sure to catch our live video on February 22nd on Facebook.
  • We've had the privilege to serve alongside 2 teams so far this month, both from New York.
  • We had 25 kids in Happy Tummies accept Christ as their personal Savior! This is probably one of the greatest praises in our hearts this month!
I have a verse for you...

"My son, do not forget my teaching, but keep my commands in your heart,   for they
will prolong your life many years and bring you peace and prosperity.
Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them
on the tablet of your heart. Then you will win favor and a good name in the
sight of God and man."

Proverbs 3:1-4
R EQUESTS

  • We are starting construction on the Abuelitos land! We ask you to join us in prayer for monetary resources as well as teams who are willing to come and help us build.
  • That the ministry Impacto has been entrusted with will be a light to the communities around lake Atitlan.
  • For courage and strength for our staff as our ministries grow.
  • We are still in need of a ATUV to better serve our Happy Tummies' on top of the mountains
Yosheil ( pictured below )

This is Yoshiel! Her mom, Dora, came to us a couple of weeks ago asking for her daughter to join Happy Tummies. You see, Dora is a teacher at a school here in San Juan and she teaches some of the Happy Tummies kids. She shared that she can point out those who are in Happy Tummies right away. She sees something different in them, in their additudes, and in their hearts. Dora was amazed when she heard some of her students who are in Happy Tummies quote Scripture by memory! She just thought that of all the things Happy Tummies offered, this was probably the most important one.

Dora came and asked if her daughter could join because Yoshiel was spending her afternoons sitting in front of the TV. Dora wants Yoshiel to be in a place where she is stimulated to be her best. A place where she would be surrounded by God's presence, His love, and His Word.

It is so humbling to hear how Happy Tummies is changing the way these kids interact with their community. That they are becoming a light in the darkness and that they are an example others want to follow is part of the ripple effect.

We are so excited to see Yoshi el " grow in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man." (Luke 5:52).
