We are so thankful for all the texts, emails, and calls we’ve received. Things here in the lake area are fine. We have not had any ash or gases reach this area.
There was a second eruption Monday afternoon that took more lives and destroyed more homes and property. Only emergency workers are allowed to enter the affected area.
As we said in an earlier email, we are raising funds to purchase desperately needed supplies for those who are suffering through this horrific ordeal. The email Pastor Luis received from an organization here in Guatemala is providing one avenue for us to get supplies in through a trusted group that we have worked with and know personally. This organization has pilots and small planes that help missionaries, pastors, and other non-profits travel within Guatemala for minimum to no costs. The email told Pastor Luis, ‘ we have the transportation but not the resources to purchase items needed for those in need, can you help us?’
Well, since we all know that Impacto has some of the most amazing, selfless, thoughtful partners we thought this was something we could totally do! So, we are asking that you please consider partnering with us now. The rescue crews are asking for the following:
Bottled water -- Canned Food -- Diapers -- Shampoo -- Soap -- Wipes
Feminine Care Products -- Blankets -- Shoes -- Corn meal for tortillas
Nutrition drinks, Incaparina -- Toothbrushes & Toothpaste -- Bandages
Ibuprofen -- Medical Supplies -- Topical Creams for Burns, Bandaids
Gathering these in the U.S. and shipping here would take a lot of money and too much time. That is why we are asking for monetary donations. We will purchase everything here. We also are doing lots of research and asking many questions to make sure everything gets to those who are suffering.
As always you can send your donations through PayPal on our website here or send your checks, made out to Impacto, to the following address:

Please prayerfully consider partnering with us as we help our fellow Guatemalans during such a tragic time. And, please continue to pray for all those affected. The mortality numbers keep raising and our hearts are beyond broken. Please lift Guatemala in prayer today.
Thank you to those who have already given, thank you to those who cannot afford to give but have lifted prayers, and thank you to those who will give!
