Who Choses Your Blessing? You or God?
" Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. As it is written: “They have freely scattered their gifts to the poor; their righteousness endures forever. ” 2 Corinthians 9:7-9
I think you are the one who chooses your own blessings. I want to give you a few tips (this is not prosperity theology).
- "Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give" (verse 7a). This means that you decide how big or how small you want your blessing. Verse 6 says, "Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously."
- Give with a cheerful heart, "not reluctantly." Remember what Acts 20:35b says, "remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ ”
- Give Freely. Remember that nothing that you "have" is yours. "Everything belongs to God. The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it."
My desire for you is that you will make the decision to be generous for the Kingdom. " For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also ."
Matthew 6:21. I hope your heart is in His Kingdom.
