The end of August marks the end of our summer teams. It also marks the beginning of our preparation for the Pastor's Congress, VBS, Zona Cero, and Christmas Festival weeks, as well as a few more teams we'll be hosting this year. We want to thank each of you who lifted our staff as well as the teams who came to minister alongside us in prayer during the last months. We hope you know that your prayers were not in vain! The Kingdom grew significantly this summer, and your prayers were a big part of it all!

This is Candelaria and she is part of our Stitches of Blessings ministry this year. Last year in March she heard of this ministry and came to the house to ask to join. By then we didn't have a machine for her to use so we told her we'd let her know if we were to have machines in 2018. After purchasing the machines this year she was one of the first women we called. She couldn't have been happier! She said she's always liked sewing and has used a machine before but she never dreamt of owning her own! In every class Candelaria makes it clear how happy and grateful she is to our Lord for the opportunity to be in Stitches of Blessings. In the last few weeks we had a team that taught how to sew in a zipper and another who taught how to make button holes. She was so excited to learn these two sewing steps! She told us she had always wanted to know how to sew in a zipper and had tried before but couldn't get it in right. Candelaria is so very happy and every time we see her she tells us just how excited she is to have her machine and all the projects she plans on making. Thank you so much to each of you who have prayed and financially supported this ministry, you have no idea what a difference you are making in the lives of each of these women.

Back in June when the volcano first erupted we put out a call for help. So many of you were so quick and generous to give. We sent a lot of bags and suitcases of clothes, and hygiene products. Once monetary donations came in we asked a Pastor of a church in that area what was the most urgent need. He said that people from all over the world had come together so fast they were ok with food and clothes at that time. He said the challenge would come later on when it was time for them to find a place to live.

Well, the time is now, there is a school that is being used as a shelter. There are one or two families living in each classroom, and the school's kids are outside under large tarps for their classes every day. These families need a place to to live and the kids need their school back.

Last week Pastor Luis, along with the Pastor mentioned above, went in search of land. They found great land that is flat and some is already cleared. When they met with the owner he told them he is a Christian as well. He promised God that if people affected by the volcano wanted to buy any of his land he would give them a special price. With the donations you so generously gave, we are able to buy four lots. In the pictures below you'll see one of the lots with a small house. While we can purchase the four lots, each house will cost $3,500 to build. We do not have the funds to help the people with their houses so they will have to do that on their own.

Each lot will cost $4,170. The landowner told Pastor Luis if Impacto could purchase 10 lots, an extra lot for a church would be his donation to help the community have a place to worship!

Please pray that the people will be able to quickly raise funds to build their homes. This will help them rebuild their lives, build a community, and also allow the children to return to their school.
