Today, September 15, is such a special day in Guatemala;along with the rest of Central America, we celebrate our independence! Although our country is facing some hard times and many in charge have made decisions that do not glorify God, our staff is dedicated to praying for those in authority positions.

Below are a few Prayer Requests that we ask you to keep lifted in prayer; and a few Praises for which we hope you will glorify God and join us in rejoicing!
Praises
  • We praise God for Guatemala! A country so dear to our hearts. God has called us to minister to this country and we couldn't be happier!
  • This month we were able to bless the local firefighters with a donation through the Healing Hands ministry! They have been a big support to us during times of need and we are so happy to be able to give back for what they do. Below is a picture taken with some of the Fire Department crew.
  • Yesterday, Juanita went for her eye check-up. Once again the doctor is sure there is nothing he can do for her bad eye. But praise God, her other eye is good. The doctor says our priority is to keep her good eye healthy. She will need medicine for life and now Impacto is providing for this through Healing Hands. The doctor also says she needs glasses and while this is a holiday weekend in Guatemala, we will make sure she gets them ASAP!
  • Maria, Juanita's mom, has been very sick as many of you know. Since having her last baby about 3 years ago, she can't seem to recover. Her complaints were many but she was not willing to go to the hospital. Praise God, we finally convinced her to go! Through Healing Hands we were able to fund her hospital visit. When the doctors saw her they were sure she was gravely ill. They even thought she had cancer! After much lab work, lots of prayer, and a week-and-a-half of waiting, we finally had an answer: She has severe malnutrition, severe gastritis, and a thyroid issue. We know that these are still very serious issues, however we are praising God it was not cancer! After about 4 weeks of treatment we've seen such an improvement! Maria was literally going bald! And now her hair is growing back! She couldn't get out of bed, and now she's up and about most days! To God be all the glory for the miracle we have seen in her life! Below is a picture of Maria before, and one after with Juanita!
I have a verse for you...

"Sing joyfully to the Lord, you righteous;
     it is fitting for the upright to praise him.
Praise the Lord with the harp;
     make music to him on the ten-stringed lyre.
Sing to him a new song;
     play skillfully, and shout for joy."

Psalm 33:1-3
Requests
  • Please join us in prayer for Guatemala. Pray that God will reign in this land, that His name will be glorified, and that Impacto may be a light in the darkness.
  • Pray for our staff as we begin end-of-the-year activities. This includes Pastors Congress, VBS in Zacapa, Zona Cero, and Christmas Festival, as well as other activities and teams in between.
  • As 2018 is coming close to the end, we ask that you join us in prayer for 2019. More specifically, please pray for many more souls to come to Christ, for the Kingdom to grow significantly, for strength and wisdom for our staff, and for financial donors.
