This year we will see some changes regarding Happy Tummies. After experiencing many problems with the school, much prayer, and discussion among our staff, we have closed one of the Happy Tummies Public Schools. Though this was a hard decision to make we took into consideration many, many factors. While the decision wasn't easy, we are sure we are following God's will for Impacto.

A few short days after this decision was made, we had a very interesting visit. The principal of an afternoon elementary school came to talk to us. She said about 10 families from her school moved to the morning school in order to have their kids attend Happy Tummies. She said there are quite a few other families who are thinking of doing the same. The principal asked if we would consider starting a morning Happy Tummies at our San Juan location for the kids who attend the afternoon school. This would mean having Happy Tummies in the morning and in the afternoon. We see this as a huge opportunity! It would be much easier for everyone as we wouldn't be starting from scratch. Using already existing facilities would be a huge head-start for this ministry.

Please join us in prayer as we are seeking God’s guidance in this new opportunity.

As many of you know we have been working to become a stand-alone 501(c)(3) organization and we are excited to announce that this goal has been achieved! We are officially Impacto Ministry, Inc. It has been a hard, sometimes teary road, especially for Sarah and Tracy (Impacto's  bookkeeper) as they had to do most of the work!

As a 501(c)(3) non-profit ministry we will have to be very purposeful about being IRS compliant. This will not change at all what Impacto does as a ministry. Our number one priority is, and always will be, to share the Gospel with as many people as possible! However, we have one adjustment to share with you. At the recommendation of our accountant, we will be changing the way our donations are done. We will no longer call it Happy Tummies San Juan, Happy Tummies Panyebar, and Happy Tummies School. From now on, donations should be made to Happy Tummies. All funds will continue to go towards providing nourishing meals, vitamins, daily Bible stories, regular check-ups by Dr. Natareno, tutoring by certified teachers, and all the other things that have always been a part of Happy Tummies Ministry.

Doing it this way, we will be able to use funds at all the sites so that when one is a bit short on funding, we don’t have to close it but can draw from the Happy Tummies fund instead of having designated site funds. We have over 400 children participating and do not want to have to turn any of them away; in fact, we hope to open more Happy Tummies programs this year and in coming years. You may not be aware of this but the children that participate in Happy Tummies do attend public schools. School attendance is a requirement to attend Happy Tummies. Plus, we still do home visits to all the children's families and we encourage them to attend church. So many have come to Christ through the Happy Tummies Ministry and we give God all the glory, praise, and thanks.

Again, Impacto’s ministry efforts have not changed. We will continue to do all that God has called us to do. Our hope is that we can now apply for grants and add other ways of raising funding for our ministry projects. We must make sure we're being IRS compliant, continue being good stewards, and showing God's thoroughness. Please feel free to email us if you have any questions.

The troops that defend our country need to train for many months, sometimes years. In God's army it's different. He said that if we trust in Him He will fight the battles for us.

“He said: “Listen, King Jehoshaphat and all who live in Judah and Jerusalem! This is what the Lord says to you: ‘Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God's.Tomorrow march down against them. They will be climbing up by the Pass of Ziz, and you will find them at the end of the gorge in the Desert of Jeruel. You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the Lord will give you, Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the Lord will be with you.'"  2 Chronicles 20:15-17

Moses answered the people, "Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still."  Exodus 14:13-14
Then I said to you, "Do not be terrified; do not be afraid of them. The Lord your God, who is going before you, will fight for you, as he did for you in Egypt, before your very eyes. Deuteronomy 1:29-30

All those gathered here will know that it is not by sword or spear that the Lord saves; for the battle is the Lord's, and he will give all of you into our hands." 1 Samuel 17:47

When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.
