Goodbye February! It’s hard to believe we are coming to the end of the second month of 2019. As many of you know we have been through some very rough times in the past few months, but as we look back we see God’s hand, mercy, compassion, grace, and love through it all. We don’t even have the words to thank you for your prayers but please know that they mean so very much to us. It is both encouraging and humbling at the same time to know so many have joined us in prayer.

February has had many exciting things happen! We’ve hosted two teams, one from New York and one from Iowa. Both have been such blessings to us and the people they have served! It’s such a joyful feeling to watch them love on all the kids and Abuelitos, the families they visit and also all the love they bring to our staff. As we have more teams join us throughout the rest of the year, we ask that you please join us in prayer for safety, and for many, many souls to come to Christ. 
Just a week ago, we held our first Stitches of Blessings of the year! It’s always exciting to see a new group of women begin this ministry each year. The first day as they introduced themselves, each lady expressed her deep appreciation for this opportunity. Some even said how this would give them a sense of independence and pride. We take so much for granted and it truly speaks to our hearts as we learn more about the life of each woman.

Juanita’s eye is healing wonderfully and next week she has an appointment with the doctor. During this appointment they will be able to tell us a more specific timeline for when she will have her prosthetic eye. Please pray with us for provision to meet all of Juanita’s medical needs and her emotional needs, too. She’s very young to be going through such a tough situation. Every time she travels to the city it takes a lot of planning and finances. We need about US$700 for the next phase. So, if you think you’d like to help this young girl, please send your tax-deductible gift with a note that says “Juanita.” As always, you can send a check or donate via our website. 
“Acknowledge your limitations.”
2 Chronicles 20:12
S omeone gave me this advice and I want to share it with you.

“Acknowledge your limitations.” 2 Chronicles 20:12

“Our God, will you not judge them? For we have no power to face this vast army that is attacking us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you.” 2 Chronicles 20:12
This passage clearly illustrates how to win the battles knowing our limitations. There is just one kind of people God doesn’t help, and that’s the kind of people that think they don’t need His help. To acknowledge our limitations is a symbol of our humbleness and it is even better when we ask for help in the midst of our limitations.

I want to leave with you the example that I like the most of someone who asked for God’s help. He recognized his limitations and in reaching out to God, God was pleased and granted His help.

“Now, Lord my God, you have made your servant king in place of my father David. But I am only a little child and do not know how to carry out my duties. Your servant is here among the people you have chosen, a great people, too numerous to count or number. So give your servant a discerning heart to govern your people and to distinguish between right and wrong. For who is able to govern this great people of yours?” The Lord was pleased that Solomon had asked for this.” 1 Kings 3:7-10 NIV

May we all learn from Solomon.
When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.
