Holy Week is an exciting week here in Guatemala! Every school closes, most people will either have the week off or will only work up until Wednesday. It’s a huge deal. Most churches will hold special services and everyone, from the youngest to the oldest, will be involved. Yes, Holy Week is a big deal here; to some, because it simply means vacation. However, to us, Holy Week is a reminder of the crucifixion, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus Christ our Savior!

We hope that you will take time this week to reflect on the wonders of Holy Week. Remember to go through your days meditating on what Jesus did during that final week before His death. Our hope also is that you will share with those around you about the beautiful gift that can be received by all through the death of our Lord Jesus.

Below are a few praises we’d like to share with you so that you will rejoice and glorify God’s name with us! Additionally, there are some requests for which we ask you to join with us on bended knee for our Father to hear our pleas.
Praises

  • It is so good to see Juanita back at Happy Tummies and school thriving and feeling her best. Thank you to all who prayed and gifted towards a new beginning for this sweet child.

  • We have the final blueprints for the Abuelitos building! We hope the rest of the pre-construction process will go smoothly and that construction will soon begin.

  • A little girl from Happy Tummies Panyebar became very ill with a stomach virus this past week. After about 3 days of her being ill, her mom came to Happy Tummies asking for medicine. When we saw just how sick she was, we told the mom she needed to take her daughter to the doctor to get checked before we could give her anything. One of the teachers was able to accompany them and sure enough the little girl needed an IV to bring her back to health. This is just a small example of how Healing Hands helps. We praise God for this ministry and for all those who support it.

  • Though each of our staff is going or has gone through different trials in past months, we have seen the hand of God in each of our lives. We can say without a doubt that He has not left our side and that He has great plans for Impacto.
All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God .
2 Corinthians 5:18-21
Requests

  • Pray for our staff as we have a few team-free but very busy weeks ahead. We have many ideas, hopes, and dreams but time and staff are limited.

  • We are still in need of over 65 sponsors to keep Happy Tummies Public School open, please prayerfully consider joining us in the effort to provide a nutritious meal, but most importantly, to share about Jesus with the children.

  • Please continue to pray for Tony’s situation. He has a hearing May 29th and we are praying for God’s will to be done and that we will see full resolution that day.

  • God has really been teaching us to fully trust Him in all things. We’ve seen our finances take a hit yet we’ve seen God’s provision. He’s stretched every penny, and we’ve seen His miracles of abundance. Please join us in prayer for His provision to continue through the obedience of His children.
When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.
