Rainy season has officially started in the lake area and we are grateful for it. Some of us prefer bright and sunny days to cloudy and gray skies. Still, we all agree that the rain is much needed, so we are nothing but grateful to God for sending it our way. Funny how God does that -- sends days, situations, moments, that you don’t think are pretty, or you might think you won’t enjoy, but the outcome is an enormous blessing.

Below are a few Praises, Requests, and some information we want to share with you this month. Once again, thank you for all your prayers and support.

  • Moving Forward with the Abuelitos Construction (see more below)

  • We had a wonderful week earlier this month with a few of the Friends of Impacto and our U.S. Board. We feel so blessed and renewed after a wonderful week with them. Praise God for friends who are like family and love Impacto as their own.

  • We are so thankful and praise the name of the Lord for the provision through our Healing Hands ministry. Through this ministry we have been able to supply medicine for the Abuelitos, the Happy Tummies children, Impacto workers, all their families, and many others in the community.

  • This past week we welcomed 3 more students at the Bible Institute! The pastors love that they’re learning so much. The fact that they are getting actual Seminary credits and will one day receive a diploma for all their hard work has really motivated them.
This morning I prayed for this verse to be a reality in your life.

I will make them and the places surrounding my hill a blessing.
I will send down showers in season; there will be showers of blessing .”

ABUELITOS LAND

The Abuelitos land and construction is a huge project for us. Sometimes we stand in awe that God has chosen and led us to work on something so big. As the construction begins for the Abuelitos building itself, we want to share with you all that God has already done.

1)     God provided funds for purchasing such an awesome piece of land.
2)     God provided and sent teams to help build the surrounding wall.
3)     God brought an architect into our lives who has grasped the idea that this is going to be a very special place for Impacto and will be used for God’s ministry.
4)     The guardian’s house is completed as well as where we will be moving our pharmacy soon (more on that later)
5)     Here we are at Phase 5 and this is where we are at right now! The trenches are being dug for the foundation and columns.

This building will be such a big part of our ministry. Its number one purpose will be to minister to the Abuelitos -- these sometimes-forgotten, beautiful souls. Our Abuelitos program is so important to the elderly as sometimes it’s the only place where they feel wanted and loved. It’s a place where they come to feel taken care of and important. Sadly, the Abuelitos ministry is one of the ministries that receives less financial support.

On the second floor of the Abuelitos building we will have a big room to use for many different ministries and primarily for Stitches of Blessings. Last year we were in the same building with the Abuelitos, Happy Tummies, Pharmacy, and teams. This year we’ve moved into the library which has been nice but a little crowded. We’re hoping that by using the second floor of the Abuelitos Building we can expand this ministry and help many more women and families.

Sometimes we get so caught up in what has to be done that we forget to look back and see what has already been done. So here we are, taking a deep breath, ready to move forward with the 5 th Phase: Construction! So, join us in praising God for what He has already done!

  • Please pray for our staff as we prepare to begin our highest team season in just a couple of weeks. Pray for energy, strength, and safety for everyone involved.

  • Join us in prayer as Tony will have, what we pray will be, his last trial on May 29. God has been by our side through all this and once again, we can’t wait till our trial becomes our testimony.

  • We are still short of funds for our zoo trip with the Happy Tummies kids. We know that this will be a huge learning experience for them on many levels as well as so much fun! Please consider a one-time donation towards this trip.

  • Pray with us that God will use our staff, workers, and the teams joining us to share about the love of Christ and that we will see many accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.
