God is so good! Many of you have joined us in prayer during Tony’s situation. We are beyond happy, excited, relieved, overjoyed, and so grateful to be able to share with all of you that we have reached the end! We saw God through it all and we know He never left our side. We hope that as time goes by and our thoughts are sorted we can share much more and we will always testify that our God is faithful. We prayed for His will to be done and we knew that could be different from what our hearts desired, but He had mercy on us and the outcome has us rejoicing in Him. Thank you to all who have prayed and supported us financially, we know God used each of you. We are looking forward to sharing more in the future but for now, please join us in thanking and praising God for what He has done for us! Below we share a few more Praises and a few Requests with you. | | PRAISES - Once again, we praise God for the miracle He has done in Tony’s life and for the Mendez family!
- We praise God because this summer we have seen over 500 souls make the decision to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior!
- We have given free medical care to around 1,000 people this summer.
- The love of Jesus was shown to over 3,000 people and the seed has been planted!
| | For God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and love, and self-control. 2 Timothy 1:17 | | REQUESTS - Join us in praying for provision as we continue the construction on the Abuelitos’ Building. We have made good headway this summer with the help of so many teams! We are so happy to see how this project will move forward and how it will serve to share the love of Jesus to many more.
- Pray for Guatemala. There were elections this year, pray that God will use the new president and we will see a change for the better.
- Pray for Juanita, for her eye tumor is growing once again. She is being taken to Guatemala City today so the doctor can give a diagnostic and say what should be done next.
- We ask that you pray for our staff as we move forward from the emotional and spiritual toll Tony’s situation has had on us all, especially Tony.
| | HAPPY TUMMIES Happy Tummies is a ministry we started 7 years ago and originally, our idea was to target low-income families. We started with 7 children. All were malnourished, all were thin, with protruding bellies (a sign of worms), and had yellowish-orange hair (a sign of malnutrition). We started by making sure they had a vitamin each day along with a nutritious meal. We also decided that after lunch the children would stay to hear a Bible story and afterwards we would help them with homework. This way, when they got home every afternoon they’d be fed and homework would be done. As the months passed Happy Tummies grew; we went from 7 to 12, from 12 to 15, from 15 to 23, and we now have 2 Happy Tummies sites and Happy Tummies at a school! Though our ministry is still directed to low-income families we also have children who might not need a meal, their parents may be able to afford a little more, however, our main reason for Happy Tummies is to share the love of Jesus, to teach the children the Word of God, and to guide them as they accept Jesus as their only and true Savior. So, Happy Tummies is open to the whole community, because, even those who can afford a meal need to hear about Jesus. | | It is so awesome to hear from parents, family members, teachers, and pastors that they see a difference, a change in the Happy Tummies kids. We love seeing some of the ones we started with whom are now in High School and how their faces still light up when we see them out on the streets. Just last week we had a soccer camp at one of the middle schools. When asked how many were sure of their salvation it was an indescribable joy to see kids who were once in Happy Tummies raise their hands! We have so many stories and testimonies of kids accepting Jesus Christ and going home to share with their families and because of that we’ve seen entire families come to accept Jesus! This is our motivation, the biggest reason behind Happy Tummies. Including all our ministries, food from our gardens, and your donations, Impacto feeds about 400 per day! But for sure, the most important is feeding their souls with the Word of God. We don’t have nearly enough supporters but we have seen God’s provision, we’ve seen the food multiply in the pots, we’ve seen the food multiply in the pantry! We are in awe of how God has taken care of this ministry. Please, prayerfully consider joining us as we feed and teach the children about God’s love for them. | | When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.
