The biggest benefit to me personally when going to Guatemala is that it’s service work mixed with a mini retreat because you are with people who are serving the Lord and I always learn something from those I’m working with or serving.  The service work we do there doesn’t seem like work when you receive SO much in return.  A week of daily devotions, music, conversations, and prayer with those who share and spread so much love, and people who are so grateful for the time you spend with them...it gives me energy and fills my heart with so much joy.  My cup is overflowing when I return because I have seen God at work.  God’s light is shining bright in Guatemala!

I would say the life changing effect on me and my family is that it has taught me how to be open with my faith and the power of prayer.
