Happy Independence Day Guatemala!
Because Independence Day happens during the school year it becomes a month long celebration! Schools spend many weeks prior to this celebration making costumes, banners, practicing songs, dances, and band performances leading up to September 15. There are more parades than you can count and everyone joins in the spirit of celebration.
As we continue to feel the atmosphere of celebration we would like to share some Praises and Praise Requests with you.
PRAISES
- We praise God for Guatemala! We are so grateful that God has called a large part of our executive team to be missionaries in our birth country. Though most of us were born and raised in the city, moving to the lake area has been a process of adjustments and learning. Thank you God for allowing us to minister in a country we love where we can exercise free speech and not be persecuted for our beliefs.
- We praise God for the last few weeks. We were able to catch up on a lot of admin work, plan, meet, pray, and check on many ministry projects.
- We are so grateful to God as we have started working from our office building in Xejuyu. We are missing a few items, but most of us are fully moved in and feeling so blessed to have that seperation from work and home. Thank you to all who have supported and donated for this to be possible.
God is our refuge and strength,
an ever-present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way
and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,
though its waters roar and foam
and the mountains quake with their surging.
Psalm 46:1-3
PRAYER REQUESTS
- The last few months our executive team has been praying for chances to share Christ with others. God has laid an urgency in our hearts to share the Gospel with everyone we can every chance we get. Pray that God will put those who need to hear about him in our paths and for us to allow the Holy Spirit to speak through us, for His glory.
- We do not have the funds needed for Zona Cero and Christmas Festival. We would be heartbroken if we had to cancel either of these events. The amount of youth we have seen come out of the darkness is unbeleivable. And the joy we see in so many families receiving their Christmas baskets is overwhelming. Please, prayerfully consider joining the efforts for both of these ministry events. You can DONATE to see just how you can make a gift towards either or both ministry events.
