JANUARY 2021 IS ALREADY OVER!

Jan. 31, 2021 by Impacto

Finishing the first month of 2021 is a little surreal. Our staff is so grateful to God for allowing us to see this new year. Life is so full of uncertainties, and when you are living through a pandemic, you learn to value life a little differently. The last year was full of emotion and our staff has been able to, “rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn” Romans 12:15.

Our staff began this year with mixed feelings. We were feeling frustrated, as we were not able to execute most of our planned schedule last year; yet we were feeling hopeful as God opened many doors to many different sides of the ministry. We know many of you have a lot of questions about teams and protocols. To be honest, we do too. So much changes from one day to the next, not just in North America but also in Guatemala. We are adding a link, you can click here, that has some very important information. As of right now, this could potentially change; we are preparing to host teams beginning in June. We ask that you please join us in prayer that God’s will be done and that our staff will make the best decisions regarding the safety of teams and the local community.

This month we have been able to resume Happy Tummies To Go. School will start in February, after that we will be able to know if we can once again have the children come. We will have to follow many protocols and our staff is working diligently to make sure we have everything ready for that day.

"Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!"

Psalm 8:1

This past November, Dinora and I had the COVID virus. While we were in that crisis, we tried to memorize Psalm 8 and we did it! Today I want to share it with you and invite you to read it, slowly please, and I am certain that it will be of major blessings to your life.

Psalm 8

[For the director of music. According to gittith. A psalm of David.]

1Lord, our Lord,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!
You have set your glory
in the heavens.

2Through the praise of children and infants
you have established a stronghold against your enemies,
to silence the foe and the avenger.

3When I consider your heavens,
the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars,
which you have set in place,

4what is mankind that you are mindful of them,
human beings that you care for them?

5You have made them a little lower than the angels
and crowned them with glory and honor.

6You made them rulers over the works of your hands;
you put everything under their feet:

7all flocks and herds,
and the animals of the wild,

8the birds in the sky,
and the fish in the sea,
all that swim the paths of the seas.

9Lord, our Lord,
how majestic is your name in all the earth! [NIV ]

The Young are Hungry for Knowledge of the Word, Too!

In the month of January, Impacto set up 6 different churches with their new laptops and internet. Now they can join the Bible Institute session each week. We are seeing the numbers grow and the churches are so grateful for the opportunity being presented to their members. There is a story that really stands out that we would like to share with you.

A few nights ago we received a call from a brother in Christ. He told how his son found our Zoom theology class recordings on Facebook. His son had thoroughly enjoyed watching them and had learned a lot. He said they went out and bought his son a smart phone so he could join the weekly live Zoom classes. This man asked if we were ok with his son joining the classes. Of course we said yes and out of curiosity his son's age. Imagine our surprise when he said his son was 12 years old! God calls His children of all ages to study and abide in His Word and it filled our hearts with delight to hear of a young child wanting to learn more about our Lord. His father said his son had a fire and a desire to learn more and that after watching the classes he told his parents he never knew there was so much to learn from the Bible.

Due to his age, we are not sure the Seminary can give him credits. However, Impacto as an organization can give him a certificate. Here in Guatemala certificates of attendance and completion go a long way, especially in resumes and/or applications of all sorts. We all are so excited to have him join our class and hope to see him use his knowledge to bring many to the Lord.
