MAY -- AND SO IT BEGINS!

May 31, 2023 by Impacto

We are perplexed at how quickly we have reached the end of May! This month marks the beginning of our busy season, from May 20 through August 19, and we have a team, sometimes two, every single week. Granted, our staff is apprehensive, as this has not happened since before Covid, yet we are so excited to see so many friends we have not seen since 2019! We are very vocal of what teams mean to us. How we’re able to see many come to Christ because of teams. Furthermore, we, as a staff, feel so supported when teams come. Each team leaves us with more energy and drive to continue the work God has called us to do. So, if you are not joining us this year, we encourage you to join us in 2024! You can lead a team or join an already existing team; we will be waiting for you! To get your dates on the calendar, please contact Andrea Mendez ([email protected]).

He changes times and seasons; he deposes kings and

raises up others. He gives wisdom to the wise

and knowledge to the discerning.

Daniel 2:21 [NIV]

GOD'S SOVEREIGNTY

In twenty-seven days presidential and senate elections will be taking place here in Guatemala. In one year, they will be held in the States. I have thought of and seen many people arguing and even fighting when a candidate who is not of their liking gets to the presidential office. As Christians we need to understand a bit more about the sovereignty of God and we must accept the person that He chooses. I believe that even though we vote for someone, God determines who will be the person to govern a country. Daniel gives us a beautiful verse and I want to share it with you: “He changes times and seasons; he deposes kings and raises up others. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning.” Daniel 2:21 NIV.

I encourage you to see that God continues to be in control, that a bird will not fall if God doesn’t allow it. So let us pray for our government leaders and pray for the next president.

FINISHING TOUCH

In one of our recent e-letters we shared that the Abuelitos were starting to use Xejuyu a bit. There is one fairly big situation that is stopping us from being able to have them situated there full-time. We need an outdoor kitchen. However, this outdoor kitchen is not only a need for the Abuelitos, it’s also needed for the Bible Conference and the Pastor’s Congress, Zona Cero, teams, and many other trainings. We have fed over 200 people during special ministry events, and the way we see things, those numbers are only going to get bigger! God is doing amazing things here and He is using Impacto. We have seen our numbers grow after Covid; the people are yearning for more. This kitchen will help us be able to better host so many of our events, teams included. We ask that you prayerfully consider donating towards this project and help us be able to better serve those we minister to.
