Speechless. That is how we feel after this week. We knew we were going to have many teens at Zona Cero [youth camp]. However, we were still taken aback on Wednesday when we kicked off the ministry event with over 300 campers; add counselors, North Americans, volunteers, workers, and staff to the mix we had over 360 people at Xejuyu! We give God all the praise and glory as we saw 92 teens make life-changing decisions. Some acknowledged Jesus Christ as their Savior for the first time in their lives, others decided to come back to His feet after straying, and others heard the call in their lives to ministry! Thank you to everyone who sent a monetary gift and to everyone who said a prayer. God used your efforts to help us to reach these youth!
God is so good and works in such wonderful ways. A few years ago, we didn’t quite understand why God was pushing us to start the compound at Xejuyu, and now we know. Hosting this many people takes a lot of space and manpower and the place God has gifted us has provided that. As we praise God for this space He has given us to use for His glory, we want to share an opportunity with you.
As you know we have been planning on expanding construction at Xejuyu. We need an Impacto Store as well as offices for our staff. Well, God heard our prayers and has provided. He has sent an anonymous doner who is willing to match up to US$100,000! Can you believe it?! This space will be a big help to Impacto. Our store is so important to bring in extra funding for the ministry. It’s a great way for visiting teams to support us. And the offices will be a blessing to our ministry work as we will be able to work diligently and efficiently in a designated space.
We ask that you prayerfully consider participating in this grand opportunity; with your help we will see this dream come to fruition. For more information, contact [email protected].
I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! The Bible talks to us a lot about being thankful. Gratefulness is a sign of humbleness, a sign that our heart is full of joy from the things we receive.
The Psalmist, David, in Psalm 103:1-2, says, “Praise the Lord, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name. Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits.” We see many benefits in Psalm 103 for which we need to be thankful for. But I feel the most impotant benefit is found in verse 3, “[He]who forgives all your sins.” This is what I want you to ponder on today.
1 John 1:9 tells us, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins.” Wouldn’t you be so thankful for the forgiveness of sin? Well, you can be forgiven if you just ask Him. What a wonderful thing to be thankful for!
Thank you, God, for forgiving our sins.
Serving Christ together,
Pastor Luis
