PRAISES & 1 B-I-G REQUEST!

Sept. 15, 2022 by Impacto

Here in Guatemala the air is changing. We don’t have four seasons per se, we have wet and dry. Although the afternoons get cooler and something in the air just changes. While some people dislike change others embrace it. Change is inevitable, so, we challenge you to sit and enjoy the changes around you, even the not so good ones, find the joy that can only come from God through the changes around you.

Below are some Praises, 1 big Request, and a change in our calendar.

Praises

  • We praise God because in November we will be celebrating the first graduating class of the Bible Institute!
  • This month we were able to incorporate 11 children from San Pedro to Happy Tummies. These are children who for a long time have been longing to be a part of Happy Tummies and in God’s perfect timing we were able to work out the logistics for them to join us! [Pictured above on the way to San Juan HT!]
  • We praise God for harvest! With everything getting so expensive, we have been very diligent about planting crops. We are seeing the fruits of the labor pay off. Even with inflation we have been able to keep our budgets for Happy Tummies and Abuelitos, this has been possible as God has provided through the harvest.

The earth is the Lord's, and everything in it, the world, and all who live

in it; for he founded it on the seas and established it on the waters.

Psalm 24:1-2

Requests

For the last few weeks, we have been sharing with you our financial need for the Pastors' Congress. We have mentioned before how this Congress is affordable to many. Nevertheless, it is about so much more than affordability; it is about what is poured into them, what they learn and take with them. This week we were on the phone with one of the couples who comes every year. The wife told us how this past year she was able to teach a 10-week Bible Study using some of the material we had given in 2019. She then shared how a few months ago a young woman in their church had been abused and she was able to walk alongside her during her healing process. She was able to use the book “You’ll get through this: Hope and Help for Your Turbulent Times” to help this young woman. God used this woman’s testimony to encourage us and let us know that He is with us as we plan this year’s Congress. We have had very little funds come in for this ministry, and we truly understand times are hard. However, we hope you know that when you give towards the Congress you are reaching way more people than merely those who attend. Please click on the DONATE NOW link and help make it possible!

CHANGES

Our staff decided to make a change in our calendar in the last few weeks. It was a change that was hard for us to make, yet our staff prayed and felt at peace. We have taken the Mega VBS off our calendar for this year. There are many reasons for this, but essentially it came down to our staff feeling like we were spreading ourselves too thin in too short a time period. We are still holding the Pastor’s Congress, Christmas Festival, Zona Cero, and day-to-day ministry. Instead of a Mega VBS, we will be supporting our Nueva Vida Churches as they hold their own VBS's. With the donations we have received we will be helping each church with teaching and crafts material, nutrition drink, and delicious nutritional food to serve at snack time. As hard as this decision was for us to make, we know that you will continue to support and stand by us.

Thank you for your support,

Impacto Staff
