PRAISES AND PRAYER REQUESTS!

Sept. 15, 2021 by Impacto

Today, September 15, 2021 we celebrate 200 years of independence! Our country’s story is like that of many other countries filled with joy, tears, heartache, happiness, civil war, peace, and so much more. Yet today we rejoice as God has called us to serve the people of this beautiful country. We are also fortunate enough to work with the Mayan population, the very first to inhabit this land. We have learned so much from the Mayan culture and have a huge respect for it. We have also enjoyed sharing with so many the Gospel and Word of God.

Though we could write about how our government does not meet our standards and how frustrating we sometimes feel, we decided that we will celebrate the people of Guatemala. We think that what makes up this wonderful country is the people, the people we have been called to serve and come to love.

So, on this day we would like to say, Happy 200th Independence Day, Guatemala! Though this year the celebration looks different we will take the time to pray and thank God for this beautiful country.

Praises

  • Construction at Xejuyu continues to blow us away! Things are moving along quickly and we hope to be able to dedicate the first floor in the next few weeks.
  • We praise God for our supporters. The past year-and-a-half would have looked very different for our workers and staff if we weren’t blessed with and through all of you.
  • We praise God for the Stitches of Blessings graduation. These women are now able to contribute economically to their families and we are thrilled to have been a part of this. We pray they will use their machines to bring glory to God in all they do.

“So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.”

John 8:36

Requests

  • We ask that you pray for all those hurting and mourning. We have seen death near and around us and have been with families as they mourn their loved ones. Join us in praying for comfort and healing for this world.
  • Please, continue to pray for our staff as we are faced with making decisions regarding the ministries and the pandemic, they are not easy to make, but we have faith and pray that each decision made is being led by God.
  • If you don’t already, we ask that you prayerfully consider partnering with us through prayer and donations. Though many things have changed for us we will continue serving the people of Guatemala in any way God calls us to.

Internship

Did you know that we offer internship opportunities? Rather than coming on a team, interns come on their own and serve with us anywhere from a few weeks to a few months. Interns provide a much needed extra boost of support to our staff, especially during our busy team season. Interns help things run smoothly, and they also are able to utilize their own skills and gifts in creative ways.

Keep in mind, interns must be 18 or older and there is an application process. If you’d like to learn more about our internship program, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Becca at [email protected].
