URGENT: DEVASTATION IN GUATEMALA'S COBAN

Nov. 9, 2020 by Impacto

Twenty-Twenty. Has this been a year for the books or what? It seems that one problem runs face-first into the next one! Nevertheless, with many problems comes an abundance of God’s grace. It is so humbling to know God, sometimes, uses us to show others His grace and love. Now is one of those times, and we are reaching out to you, our partners, during this time.

Coban Needs Your help

November 5th hurricane Eta entered Guatemala even though it was days earlier that we started seeing its effects with high winds and rain. The flooding in Guatemala has been devastating. Our hearts are shattered as we are seeing so many suffering. One of the many places hit hard was Coban, a state that is 12 hours from the lake. Our church planting ministry Nueva Vida (New Life), has three churches in three different communities there. One of the three communities was hit especially hard. Pastor Manuel, the Pastor of the church, lives on a small hill in the community. Praise God his house was not flooded. Sadly, from his house he can see the rest of his community with flooding up to the roof of the houses. All the pictures in this newsletter were taken by Pastor Manuel himself from the front door of his home.

Coban Needs Our help

Our staff in Guatemala is spending this week gathering and classifying clothes, canned food, bottled water, and masks -- the most immediate needs. As the flood water recedes, we will see more needs arise. We want to walk alongside this community as they recover from this tragedy.

This is an unforeseen emergency and we are humbly asking that you join us as we minister to the families affected by Eta. We need all the help we can get as these families lost everything. They will have to rebuild from scratch. Our plan is to help as many families as we can under the guidance of Pastor Manuel as he knows his community best.

Please Help Us Help Coban

We are a small ministry, yet we serve a mighty God. Without any doubts, we know He will provide and guide us as we help this small community who has lost everything. Please remember, if you are able to give, our emergency relief is now under Compassion Ministries. You can click on the DONATE NOW button below to donate via PayPal and to get information on other ways to donate.

We thank you in advance for your willingness, sacrifice, and compassion to give. Remember, as Pastor Luis always says, the ripple effect can be massive.

“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you,

whatever you did for one of the least of these

brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’"

Matthew 25:40 [NIV]
