In Guatemala Holy Week is a big deal! We mean, very big deal. Every school, private and/or public has their “Spring Break” during Holy Week, except we call it Holy Week Vacation. Summer is in full throttle, and everyone travels. Therefore, you can imagine that the month leading up to this is quite hectic! As we begin to feel the excitement building, we wanted to take some time to share with you some exciting Praises as well as some Prayer Requests We ask you to join us in praying for them.
PRAISES
- We praise God because since January 20th until now we have hosted 8 teams and over 130 people. After next week (our last week of winter/spring teams) we will have hosted 10 teams and 286 people! God is so good! The effects these teams had in the life of many of those in the community was remarkable, not to mention the effects on their own lives! We give all praise and glory to God.
- One of our last teams was a medical team. This team saw 420 patients, 18 of them gave their lives to Christ, and many more seeds were planted! This was just with one team. We are merely tools; all glory goes to God!
- The quadplex is coming along so well! We praise God and are so grateful for all of you who have prayed and donated towards getting this done. We are still in need of funds to complete this project, so please continue to pray for God’s provision.
But Jesus called the children to him and said,
"Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it. "
Luke 18:16-17 [NIV]
PRAYER REQUESTS
- In July we will once again be holding our yearly Bible Conference and expect to host between 150-200 attendees. This is our chance to give back to those who are constantly giving themselves to others. This is our chance to fill the cups of those who are constantly pouring into the cups of others. Please help us be able to care for them in a way that they feel refreshed, rested, and encouraged as they head back to serve their communities. We are trying to raise US$25,000 for the entire Conference.
- Pastor Luis and Pastor Tony have the chance to travel to Equatorial Guinea, the only Spanish-speaking country in Africa! The reason for their trip is for Pastor Luis to preach at the 30-year Church Conference. They also will be exploring the possibility of helping the local church start a Happy Tummies program there. This has been a dream of Pastor Luis for many, many years, and now he and Pastor Tony get to go and share his vision. We are excited about the opportunity God has laid before us.
