During the month of February Impacto hosted 3 teams, one of which was brand new! We are always so grateful for teams and all they do for the community we serve. It’s always nice to see the difference each team makes as well as the differences marked in themselves.
The amount of people reached by the Gospel this month makes our hearts joyful. As a staff we agree that our biggest priority is to share the Gospel. Every other part of the ministry stems off us sharing the Gospel. We are firm believers that the first part of showing someone mercy is making sure their salvation is secure for eternity. We are living in difficult times, and we want our community to know that their trust should be in Christ and not man.
Through this belief we are seeing our compassion ministries work hand-in-hand. At Happy Tummies and Abuelitos our priority is to teach more about Christ and how to have a relationship with Him. Yet, this is not our only desire. This last month we were able to aid a Happy Tummies child and his older brother who were in a motorcycle accident. Through Healing Hands, we were able to pay for healthcare both needed but could not afford. They were so grateful to have been taken care of and provided with medication; their family even gifted us a rooster! Through Healing Hands and a team, we were able to provide 2 Abuelitos with walkers! These are just a few examples of how our ministries intertwine. But this is the beautiful thing about everyone being on the same page, and everyone knowing that this world is not our eternity, and one day there will be no more accidents, no more wounds, no more bad knees, but one day we will all be with Christ in Heaven worshiping Him in joy and peace and everything that is wonderful and holy.
FASTING FOR BETTER SPIRITUAL HEALTH
Easter is just around the corner, actually the first Wednesday of March is Ash Wednesday. Many churches encourage their congregation to do 40 days of fasting; some encourage different kinds of fasting not just food, such as tv or social media, and swapping that time for a time of reading the Bible and prayer. If you choose to fast one of these or something different and it marks a difference in your spiritual health, I encourage you to continue doing this. Fast any habit that is damaging your walk in Him and not pleasing to Him.
The Bible gives us the best advice for fasting 1 Peter 2:11, “Dear friends, I urge you, as foreigners and exiles, to abstain (fast) from sinful desires, which wage war against your soul.”
Serving Christ together,
