Happy Independence Day Guatemala! We are honored to serve this marvelous country we call home. It is humbling to know God has called us to be the hands and feet of Jesus to such a beautiful people. Though we fall short on many occasions we strive to serve the people of Guatemala whole-heartedly and with one goal in mind, to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with as many people as we are able.

As September races by we wanted to take a quick moment to share some Praises and Prayer Requests with you.

PRAISES

As we mentioned back in August, we held our San Juan Stitches of Blessings graduation, with 10 women receiving their sewing machines to take home. Well, this month we will be celebrating with another 10 women in Guatemala City! They will each also receive their machine to take home. Additionally, we have a class of 5 women receiving training in Zacapa. Therefore, we will have a total of 25 women who will receive a sewing machine by the end of 2024. Praise God! Our hope and prayer is that these sewing machines will be the leverage they need to start a business, to be able to provide for their families. Remember, you can support this ministry by donating towards our Compassion Ministries. We praise God for allowing us to be a small part in each of these ladies’ testimonies. To Him be all the glory!

Healing Hands might be one of our less mentioned ministries, but it is such a blessing to the community. Through Healing Hands, we can not only help but also minister to many who are burdened due to their physical health. Not only do we help with the financial burden of illness, but we also spend time praying with people and pointing them towards the direction on spiritual healing. Thank you to all who support this ministry, it makes a difference in many lives.

As many of you know, we have been working towards opening a new Happy Tummies in Santa Clara (up the mountain), and as we’ve been working on that, God has been working on much more! We now have added two brand new sites! One is in Escuintla, near Guatemala's Pacific Coast, and one in Chaimal, Coban. Both have started meeting periodically and the churches are feeding the kids once a week! These are both small congregations living in an area with a large need. They are doing their very best, however, they need a helping hand to make this ministry happen from Monday-Friday. In the coming weeks part of our staff will be visiting both Happy Tummies sites, and we could not be more excited! Of course, only God knows the future, but if all goes according to plan, we will have 2 new Happy Tummies by the end of this year and 1 new one early next year. God is good! He makes all the pieces fall into the right place; we have planned, and we have acted, but He opens doors and lets His blessings flow at the right time. He is so good!

REQUESTS

• Our number one request has been, and will always be, prayer. Without your prayers we could not do what we are doing. Your prayers are what keeps us going, what lifts us up when we’re feeling tired and worn. Please, we ask that you continue praying for us daily.
• Pray for provision. As you can see, we have many hopes, dreams, and plans. God always provides. We have seen miracles happen and we have seen donations multiply in front of our very own eyes! He is such an amazing and perfect provider. Nevertheless, we ask that you prayerfully consider partnering with us as we follow God’s calling to serve the people of Guatemala.
