Was it just us or did January fly by? Where did the time go? We have had an incredibly busy month, but busy is good. We worked hard on getting our ministries up and running for the year. We’ve hosted 2 teams, both with very full schedules and are getting ready to continue hosting teams until the end of March. We feel extremely blessed and privileged to know so many of you have been or will be willing to minister alongside Impacto. We are so grateful to each of you.
This month we have also started the construction process of Impacto Global Headquarters! This has been a long time in the making. We pray that having office space will prove to be a huge difference for our staff and our work. We pray that with the new space we will see an increase in our job productivity and time management. We are so grateful for God’s provision for this new construction.
OBEDIENCE IS BETTER THAN SACRIFICE
Hello! How’s it going with your 2025 New Year’s Resolutions? In 1 Samuel, Chapter 15, we find a fascinating story when God asks Saul to go fight against the Amalekites; not only against the humans, but animals too. He is instructed to not take anything, not even the gold or silver. Some of us, maybe, made a resolution such as, being more obedient, being a better person. Well, Saul and his people were not. They killed the Amalekites but took the best of their cattle.
When they were on their way home from war the prophet Samuel came to meet them and congratulate them for winning. But he heard sounds of cattle, so he asked, did you do everything God commanded you? Did you kill the Amalekites? Saul responded, I did just as God commanded. Samuel asked why he brought back cattle, and Saul said, I did so to sacrifice them to God. Then we find the most beautiful verse in Samuel, verse 22, “But Samuel replied: “Does the Lord delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying the Lord? To obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed is better than the fat of rams.”
It's not too late if you want to make a resolution to be more obedient towards God. I encourage you to do so. Remember, obeying Him is the best thing you can do for God.
Serving Christ together,
Pastor Luis
